UNIT #2 - GEOGRAPHY
The Geography unit introduces students to physical features of our world and the effect the natural world had on the emergence and expansion of civilizations. Students will learn the different ways humans have interacted with the environment in order to build thriving societies.
Essential Questions:
How have physical features positively and negatively influenced the development of civilizations?
What factors caused the migration of early humans and what were the effects of those migrations over time?
What are the geographic similarities and differences among ancient societies, and what influence did it have on their development?
How did the agricultural revolution lead to the development of early civilizations?
What is the connection between a surplus of food and a move away from a nomadic lifestyle?
How did people adapt to their environment in order to survive, develop and expand?
